The primary goal of this course was for you to create a personal definition of leadership and identify the strengths and skills necessary to develop as a leader. On the way to this goal you have had the opportunity to analyze leaders you have known or admired in the context of different leadership styles. As you developed your personal leadership philosophy, we discussed the models and philosophies of leadership so you could align your strengths and preferences with one model best that best supports your leadership skills. Through practical case studies, you demonstrated your understanding of the best use of effective leadership in different situations. I hope you feel accomplished, as you did all of this in five weeks!
One aspect of leadership that we have not delved into deeply is metacognition, which most simply put is thinking about your thinking. Metacognition also refers to the process of assessing your understanding and performance. In this instance, you will reflect on the objectives of the course, select one, and assess how well you understand that aspect of our course.
