In the past years, we have seen an increase in Type II diabetes in the U.S. In my research paper, I will be presenting type II diabetes by describing its causes and symptoms, the population that is the most affected by it, and ways in which we can fight this disease. Type II diabetes occurs when the body becomes resistant to insulin, the hormone that serve to regularize sugar in our body, or when our body is unable to produce enough insulin. Some symptoms of this type of diabetes are increased thirst, hunger, and frequent urination, unintended weigh loss, fatigue and blurred vision among other symptoms. This disease tends to affect the older population (over 45 years old), but there has been an increased in the number of cases among younger adults. Healthy eating and physical activities are the main ways by which one could prevent having type II diabetes.
