It has been said that to promote change and foster more equitable solutions, a policy must weave together racial justice, gender equity, and other dimensions of equity to ensure that they lift up every single community and leave no one behind. Using the CDC’s archived website on Prevention Status Reports (PSR)Links to an external site. you are to evaluate three (3) policy initiatives to identify their ratings, potential areas for improvement, inequities, and relevant contextual factors that support and/or challenge the continuation of your chosen policies.To complete this exercise, you must first select three (3) policy initiatives that can be found by clicking on any of the 10 most important public health problems identified on the CDC’s PSR website. Once you have selected the three (3) policies to evaluate, identify them by using the provided table or you may create one of your own.Next, you are to use the CDC’s PSR website to identify what the three performance ratings are for each of the three (3) selected policies. Generally speaking, Green indicates good/met criteria; Yellow indicates improvement needed/one or more criteria not met; Red indicates unsatisfactory/no criteria met (see example below). However, more specific rating criteria can be found for each policy under its respective rating scales.Once you have identified the three criteria ratings for each policy, select the status rating (G/Y/R) obtained by each policy initiative.
