Part B: Scenarios.  Choose one of the following:
Scenario 1: You are the new Director of Revenue Cycle Management at the Midland Community Hospital, a 650-bed acute care facility. During your orientation to the facility, the hospital CFO informs you there is no formal chargemaster review process. Your first task in your new role is to develop a process for the systematic review of the chargemaster. Present your process in a one-page executive summary to the CFO.
Scenario 2: You are the new Director of Revenue Cycle Management at the Midland Community Hospital, a 650-bed acute care facility.  Generally, charts remain on the DNFB report for an average of 12 days waiting to be coded.  Your organizational leadership has determined implementing a computer-assisted coding system will help expedite final coding and improve revenue. You are responsible for creating a request for proposal (RFP) for potential vendors to complete.  Formulate at least 10 open-ended questions to ask the vendors that will help you determine which product is the best fit for your facility.
