Dr. Amit Goswami
This is Amit Goswami with the Quantum Doctor. This is lecture number nine.
The subject is evolution and quantum healing as a path toward supra mental intelligence.
Now these days, I am thinking a lot about an idea called quantum activism. The idea is very similar to normal activism where we try
to change the world, but we don’t try to change ourselves.
We feel guilty about not being able to change ourselves, so we try to alleviate this guilt by try to change others. That’s my theory of
why people become activistic.
Quantum activism is slightly different in the sense that we do take the responsibility of changing ourselves, but we recognize that
the spiritual traditions have been talking about changing ourselves and changing the world that way through changing individually
for a long time. And this, unfortunately, does not do the society very much good, although there are people who are spiritually
enlightened, certainly.
But their enlightenment somehow does not enlighten our society, and suffering continues unabated. And today, we have become so
connected, human beings have become so connected on earth, which is a finite planet, that we are affecting each others’ wellbeing. So, there is a necessity for collective growth, collective evolution.
So I think the time has come for a new kind of activism, and this is what I call quantum activism where the objective is to use the
quantum principles to change, transform ourselves, and our society with it. What are the quantum principles that we must
emphasize, that we must bring to our life? Those are the quantum principles that are important and explicit in the phenomenon of
healing.
Namely non-locality, discontinuity and tangled hierarchy.
In the last lecture, I talked about them in the context of healing. In this lecture, I want to elucidate these ideas in connection with
healing, but in the perspective of the evolutionary journey of humanity.
This way, I claim that the healing journey and the recognition of what the healing journey consists of is part of a broader journey of
evolution that we are going through.
When we look at healing this way, we get the perspective of why today? We are establishing these new connections. Why the idea
of integrative healing? Why the idea of the quantum in healing? Why the idea of healing as a journey towards wholeness in the
perspective of evolution?
So all this, I hope to elucidate in this lecture. Let’s first talk about the idea of evolution within a science of consciousness. This picture
will make this very clear. Consciousness begins with what is called limitless bliss. All possibilities, possibilities are included: past,
present and future. And it is easy to see that when all possibilities are included, then there cannot be any time.
There is no sense of time in this consciousness with, with unlimited possibilities, all included. Because past, present, and future
possibilities are all included, and therefore, there is nothing — no movement here. Nothing happens. So, in order for anything to
happen, consciousness has to create limits.
This limit creation is call involution of consciousness, and indeed, Sri Aurobindo of India, a philosopher in India, a mystic philosopher,
has argued that the evolution occurs in three stages, and we can readily identify them.
The, the first stage, the first limitation is the supra mental intellect body — the archetypal body. This is the body of laws, laws of the
physical. Laws of movement of the vital and the mental. Essentially, all the archetypes, biological functions, physical laws that are
contained in this body.
The second limitation is to consider only those possibilities which are meaningful. This creates the mental body of being.
Third limitation is to do the play within some specific vital body blueprints. In other words, the journey will include a particular body
plans of biological beings. And of course, the fourth limitation is the physical body. Physical world of which physical body is the part,
which now will be or attempt to create this physical.
Physical is the one that can make representations of the subtle. And so, now evolution can begin.
The first part of the evolution, which is shown on the left, is evolution of life. And here we are evolving representations of the vital
body. This, I have already made very clear in the talks that you have, all our organs are representation of the vital blueprints, the
morphogenetic fields, and this blueprints are mapped better and better, and so the organisms evolve.
The earlier organisms have very poor maps, very poor representations. But with time, the organs become better and better
representations of the blueprints and the biological functions that the blueprints represent. In this way, we continue until the brain
evolves, and when the brain evolves, brain can make maps of the mind. Representations of mental meaning.
The brain is a sort of a computer, so mind is now represented as the software representations of meaning in the hardware that is the
brain. Now, the evolution now becomes an evolution of the mind. The meaning processing that the mind does. So, if we don’t look
at how the mind will do the meaning processing, since we have four worlds from which we draw our experiences.
Clearly, the mind will give meaning to all our experiences, beginning with the most obvious one, the physical. So indeed,
anthropologists have given us a map of how the mind evolves.
The first kind of mind was connected with when we were hunters and gatherers. We needed to draw conclusions about the physical
world.
The meaning of the physical world was very important for our survival. So naturally we developed a physical mind.
Mind that gives meaning to the physical.
So, this went on for a long time, and then we developed the ability to, more skilled agriculture that is sometimes called horticulture:
agriculture with small instruments like a hoe. At that stage, we are graduating to the next stage of meaning processing, which
processing meaning of feeling.
Vital body.
