This assignment will allow you to examine how epidemiology information is presented in the media and to explore determinates of a health topic.
You will select a current article (must be from 2019-2020) from a news source that is about a public health topic (e.g., disease, behavior, morbidity, mortality…). The chosen article MUST come from a reliable news organization such as the LA Times, New York Times, CNN, etc. (e.g., no random blogs). Use other sources to fill in the information needed that the article does not provide. You will then write a short essay, at least 2 full pages long, 3 pages maximum (double spaced with one-inch margins), which includes the following information:
Describe the agent or behavior (specifically define the agent and how it relates to individuals, place, and time)
Characteristics (What is it? How is it treated?)
